UNIT11

Visions Of Future
I intend to have a place in media in design or photography. I've also found an interest in ergonomics which i can also merge with media. Since last writing this my visions of the future has changed drastically but the previous ideas still remain and i hope to pursue them through further education and a possible apprenticeship.

SKY UP VISIT
during our trip to sky, i scouted the work place and it felt healthy and flowing. People working in their integrated cafes, lounging with friends or the vast rows of computers with high end tech. I saw some of the studios they have like the sky news hub uptop and the sky sports behind the scenes which was a thousand times bigger than i expected. I learned a bunch of things about how things get done in terms of camera work lighting and sound. it has heavily influenced my progression route and i might think about a place there in the future

WESTMINSTER VISIT

This trip was an eye opener for me, during the second workshop, the lecturer spoke about how graphic design drives media and how there's plenty of factors to it but the one i was most interested in was the stuff like 3d work, animation , posters and stuff alike. The VR section was also pretty fun but didnt help me find my purpose in media like the second workshop did.

i still have all my skills from other media areas ive learned and i can apply those.

SKILLS QUIZ PROSPECTS

90% of these options dont really appeal to me apart from commission editing, the rest doesn't match me at all somehow. Maybe an IT trainer as it could fall into some of my skills but thats about it.

Personal statement.

Media is something I've always loved and been interested in from a young age, its eye opening once you take in how connected the world really is and catching word that I could be a part of it set me on my journey. Throughout my time at school, I always struggled with getting my words on paper without having the page look like a jumble or ending up thinking faster than I write, media however, allows me to express certain views or messages I have through many different forms like documentaries, short films, photography and graphic design.

I enjoy content creation overall, but I find myself to be more skilled in video editing plus it's something I enjoy the most, however I'm not one to shy away from levelling up in other areas and I can guarantee success in that during this course. As it's something I want to build a career from, I believe it's optimal to have a diverse set of skills in such a wide subject like media.

I would be a perfect fit for the course as I've always had a drive to perfect anything I enjoy and put my mind to, luckily media is one of those things! Plus, at the end of the academic year you would be left with positive mark on the university and a handful of work from a dedicated student to show off to other colleges, schools or even universities.

From Year 8 to Year 11, I studied Media which taught me a handful of communication skills. Alongside this, I currently study Level 3 Creative media production design and technology 2nd Year which has taught me a bunch of design and camera skills ranging from my first software premiere pro to my most recent being aftereffects.

I excel at making new connections and I believe that's a core skill to have in the world of media, its enjoyable to meet new people that's a part of such a vast subject, find out what they do and figure out how we can work together to create products from not one but two minds, I am eager to embark on such a journey. During my first year of college meeting new people would be tough for most but I found myself not only meeting others, but bringing people together which allowed us to be comfortable and cooperative in our new environment early which in turn boosted our work rates and allowed us to put out the group work we had assigned easily!

As anyone else would experience, frustration can get the better of me during a rough project or when things don't go how I envisioned, however, harnessing it can fuel a drive to do, and achieve better. I think it's fascinating what people can achieve when they work in harmony.

My drive for improvement extends beyond a classroom and I always take up creating promotional material for my friends like thumbnails or album covers which I've all been very proud of and always look back on to see what I can do better in future projects alongside this, there was a time during the holidays where I worked for this youth club leading a 8-9 year old group which further improved my social skills and my graphic skills doing photography and improving their social media.

After completing the course, I would love to lead an advertising team or be part of one. I enjoy making posters, promotional videos, taking photos, making logos and everything under the media umbrella and possibly directing music videos.

I might even get around to sharing my skills with others through online courses.

In conclusion, I can say with confidence that my communication skills, fluency in media production, dedication and passion towards media I've gained over the years will allow me to thrive in this course. My pursuit of being a part of what makes the world move forward is what brought me writing this today as I know this course will allow me to do so. Establishing new relationships and building communities is what I live for. I'm looking forward to putting my best foot forward on this course and an acceptance will be far from a risk. Thank you greatly for reading and considering my words.

OPTIONS AFTER COLLEGE
At the moment ive decided against university and plan to take a gap year. During the gap year i have plenty of work possibilities in my family involving my strong suits in media which means i actually get to enjoy what i do, earn, and gain experience for possible careers or apprenticeships afterwards. These roles can consist of web design, photography, video/photo editing and social media management.

If new opportunities arise which involves going through university ill be more than open to taking them up however im in no rush to do so.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
PROS: Makes certain jobs easier and less time consuming and eliminates chance for human error
can create any worded piece of material with ease. ist always accessible and ready at hand if you have the equipment necessary.

CONS: inputs and prompts need to be specific as a computer cant fill in the gaps in the knowledge you give it. can promote laziness
